CLACMU Goals for 2009-2010

Continue to develop as a strong professional student organization.

Provide meaningful programs for members.

*Continue to provide awareness of middle level programs here at CMU for both students and faculty.

Send 47 students to NMSA national conference in Indianapolis, IN, in November.

Send 35-40 students to MAMSE state conference in Dexter in March.

Continue to engage in fundraising activities to help support our students to conferences and send out our grad letter.

*Celebrate the Month of the Young Adolescent, with emphasis on middle level advocacy.

Produce our graduate letter in the spring.

Continue to be active in CMLA.

Continue to provide a means for those who cannot attend Wednesday meetings to still be active through other activities.

*Actively involve more of our membership in activities and/or projects.

Continue developing our website and keep it current.

*Provide means for CMLACMU to provide service to young adolescents and/or middle schools.

*Provide volunteers to work with young adolescents in the area.

Maintain the CMLACMU budget.

*Help other Michigan universities start CMLA chapters on their campuses.

Participate in an all student professional organization development conference with a keynote speaker.

Regularly use e-mail for communication with CMLACMU membership.

Work to build a stronger sense of community among the members.

Support the Transitions Camp for sixth graders moving to seventh grade.
