Kappa Kappa Psi Joins Effort to Feed Half A Million Kids

On the morning of April 2nd, members of the Lambda Tau Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi and other members of the Chippewa Marching Band joined a number of other student and community service clubs for Michigan's "Kiwanis One Day" effort on behalf of Kids Against Hunger. Working in shifts from 7 am to 3 pm, our students helped to package and ship approximately 40,000 meals, destined for food pantries and distribution centers across mid-Michigan. Combined with the efforts of students and adults at ten other sites across the state, the total output of the day's work will provide meals for nearly 500,000 Michiganders. Similar efforts are ongoing in communities across America and our students are proud to have this opportunity to help. In 2008, over 120,000 volunteers packaged a total of 39,822,100 meals for starving children and their families abroad and for hungry people here at home. The goal for 2009 is to increase production by 66%. To join us in this effort, and for more information, visit www.feedingchildren.org
