ONEREPUBLIC
The band’s first single, “Apologize,” which was remixed by Timbaland, has been Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 for ten consecutive weeks, rocketing all the way to #2. The song has sold two million legal downloads, maintained its #1 position on the Top 40 chart for two months, and entered the history books by shattering the record for the most spins at radio in just one week with over 10,000 spins. All of which adds up to one of the most eagerly-anticipated CDs of the year – Dreaming Out Loud – OneRepublic’s Mosley Music Group/Interscope debut.

"The toughest thing to do is write a hit song and the easiest thing to do is act like a rock band," says OneRepublic singer-songwriter Ryan Tedder. "But we had a hit song before we had an album and we can't pull off the 'rock god' thing. We do everything backwards."

OneRepublic is: Ryan Tedder (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Zach Filkins (guitar, backing vocals), Drew Brown (guitar), Brent Kutzle (bass, cello), Eddie Fisher (drums).

FABOLOUS
It takes talent to make the struggle to succeed seem effortless, but that is the gift that separates artists like Brooklyn's John Jackson, aka Fabolous, from the everyday MC. While most rappers spend more and more time convincing the masses of their "hustle," Fabolous lets his work speak for his effort.

With two platinum albums (2001's Ghetto Fabolous and 2003's Street Dreams) and one Gold (2004's Real Talk) to his credit, the veteran hitmaker still exudes a rookie-of-the year swagger. After recording for both Elektra and Atlantic Records, Fab is enjoying a homecoming with the legendary Def Jam label. His first recorded song was "If They Want It" from DJ Clue's The Professional, which was released by Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam in 1998. Now he is preparing to release his fourth street classic, From Nothin' to Somethin' under the watchful eye of his longtime collaborators.

"I'm trying to bring good music back to the game," Fab says confidently. "And anybody that's bringing good music, the hype is gonna follow them."

BATTLE OF THE BANDS
For more info please click here.

The CNSCT launches its first ever Virtual Battle of the Bands on the spring 2008 tour. Each participating university will have an opportunity to submit three of their favorite bands (campus or local) for the competition. Chosen bands will post pics, videos and music to the battle page on this site and students will have an opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite group. The band with the most votes at each university will open the show on the main stage and receive a picture / name mention in SPIN magazine.

Student voices will be heard as they will have an active role in the lineup of their on campus concert.
