Personal Information

   I've been in SCAMS now for 2 years and held the president position in 2005 and the treasurer spot in 2004.  I'm from the lower Michigan town Hastings which is about 30 miles south of Grand Rapids.  I'm studying to be a meteorologist not for the money or fame but because I have always been fascinated and awed by the things that happen in the sky. Whether it be some simple cirrus clouds or a rocking severe thunderstorm it always excites me.  When I was young I used to hide in my parents bed when thunderstorms blew through in the night and now I drive all over state searching out inclement weather! Aside from MI storm chasing I'm a real outdoor nut.  I like to cross-country ski, backpack, camp, hike, kayak, mountain bike and do some manner of fly-fishing (I'm new to it).  Indoors I take in martial arts (Maharlika Kuntaw and Judo), play guitar and host LAN parties in northern Michigan (Local Area Network). Adrenalan.tk  At CMU I am double majoring in Meteorology and GIS and Minoring in Geography and Mathematics.  I have been at CMU for 2 and a half years now.  I attended NMC (Northwestern Michigan College) in Traverse City for the first two years of my collegiate life before I transferred.

    My over-all interests in meteorology are include, lake enhanced snowfall/weather, rural / metro temp and precipitation forecast differences, analogous weather prediction, meshing GIS and meteorology, and FORTRAN programming.   If anyone has any questions about my life, academics, or dreams just let me know.  I'll be happy to share anything that isn't too personal to share which is very little with me.
